American Civil War Studies
This course is designed to give students a basic understanding of the American Civil War, 1861 - 1865.
We break the conflict into the following subgroups;

Trans-Mississippi Theater of Operations
​
Pacific Theater of Operations
​
Naval Operations (both Blue & Brown Water)
​
These subgroups are then subdivided into years, i.e. 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864, & 1865. The years are divided into Battles/Engagements.
​
At the 100 Level these courses will provide you with a brief summary of the action in question, these courses are designed to cover the involvement and movements of the Armies, Corps, and Squadrons engaged in the Battle/Engagement.
​
At the 200 Level these courses will provide you with an intermediate summary of the action in question, these courses are designed to cover the involvement and movements of Divisions and Brigades engaged in the Battle/Engagement.
​
At the 300 Level these courses will provide you with an advanced summary of the action in question, these courses are designed to cover the involvement and movements of Regiments, Companies and Vessels engaged in the Battle/Engagement.
